Halloween
by Richard McGee
Past the time of grass and flowers,
Underneath the shedding tree limbs,
Mounds of leaves gather on the ground.
Parades of ghosts and goblins pass
Keeping their bags of treasure close.
Inside, Mother answers the door
Not knowing what monsters she’ll meet.
